   PIRCHEI RULES FOR KINDERGARTEN AND PRE1A

 

 

1) PLAYERS HIT OFF THE TEE FOR THE FIRST HALF OF SEASON THEN STARTING JUNE 9th, 2024 THE TEE IS REMOVED AND PARENTS PITCH AND CATCH.

​

2) PLAYERS SWING UNTIL THEY HIT. THREE (3) OUTS PER INNING.

​

3) CHILDREN AND PLAYERS MUST STAY BACK AND CLEAR FROM THE BATTING AREA.

​

4) A BATTER THAT THROWS A BAT WHILE BATTING WILL BE WARNED THE FIRST TIME, IF A BATTER THROWS A BAT A SECOND TIME THE BATTER IS AUTOMATICALLY OUT.

​

5) MAXIMUM OF 6 RUNS PER INNING, EXCEPT UNLIMITED RUNS FOR THE LAST INNING.

​

6) GAME LASTS 6 INNINGS.

​

7) EVERYBODY PLAYS THE FIELD AND BATS.

​

8) ALL BATTERS AND RUNNERS MUST WEAR BATTING HELMETS.

​

9) PARENTS MUST KEEP SPECTATORS AND PLAYERS IN A SAFE AREA WHILE BATTING.

​

10) COACHES/PARENTS UMPIRE GAME.

​

11) PIRCHEI TEE BASEBALLS ONLY.

​

12) ALL GARBAGE MUST BE CLEARED FROM THE FIELD BY PLAYERS AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE GAME.

​

13) ONLY BATHROOMS AT THE SCHOOL OR PARK MAY BE USED.

​

 PIRCHEI RULES FOR 1st AND 2nd GRADE

 

1) PARENTS PITCH SOFTLY UNDERHAND AND CHILDREN CATCH AND WEAR CATCHERS GEAR. (CHILDREN MUST WEAR ALL CATCHING GEAR; MASK, CHEST PROTECTOR, SHIN GUARDS, ETC.).

​

2) NO CALLED STRIKES, BALLS OR WALKS.

​

3) THREE STRIKES PER BATTER. FOUL ON THIRD STRIKE KEEPS BATTER ALIVE.

​

4) A BATTER THAT THROWS A BAT WHILE BATTING WILL BE WARNED THE FIRST TIME, IF A BATTER THROWS A BAT A SECOND TIME THE BATTER IS AUTOMATICALLY OUT.

​

5) EVERYBODY PLAYS THE FIELD AND BATS. A FIELDER MAY STAND NEXT TO THE PARENT PITCHER.

​

6) NO LEADING OR STEALING.

​

7) MAXIMUM OF SIX RUNS PER INNING, EXCEPT UNLIMITED RUNS LAST INNING.

​

8) GAME WILL LAST SIX INNINGS (WHATEVER INNING YOU ARE IN BY 3:55 P.M. SHALL BE THE LAST FULL INNING AND THE NEXT GAME IF ANY MUST WAIT).

​

9) PLAYERS MAY RUN ON CONTACT ONLY.

​

10) ALL BATTERS AND RUNNERS MUST WEAR HELMETS.

​

11) COACHES/PARENTS UMPIRE GAME.

​

12) SPECTATORS AND PLAYERS MUST STAY CLEAR OF BATTING AREA.

​

13) ALL GARBAGE MUST BE CLEARED FROM THE FIELD BY PLAYERS AT CONCLUSION OF THE GAME.

​

14) ONLY BATHROOMS AT THE SCHOOL OR PARK MAY BE USED.

​

      PIRCHEI RULES FOR 3rd Grade

 

1))CHILDREN PITCH EITHER UNDERHAND AND CHILDREN PLAY CATCHER POSITION WEARING ALL PROTECTIVE CATCHER’S GEAR.

 

2) UMPIRE CALLS GAME (BALLS AND STRIKES). Pitching mound approx. 38’ from home plate.

 

3) IF THERE ARE 3 WALKS GIVEN UP IN ANY ONE INNING THEN A COACH FROM THE TEAM IN THE FIELD HAS THE OPTION TO TAKE OVER AS PITCHER UNTIL THE NEXT INNING WHEN THE CHILD PITCHER MAY RESUME AS LONG AS HE HAS NOT PITCHED A TOTAL OF 3 INNINGS. PARENT PITCHER PITCHES SOFTLY EITHER UNDERHAND OR OVERHAND. BALLS AND STRIKES TO BE CALLED WHEN PARENTS PITCH IN THESE INSTANCES (NO FAST BALL PITCHING BY PARENT).

 

4) (A) A PITCHER MAY PITCH A MAXIMUM OF 3 INNINGS PER GAME (A PITCHER THAT THROWS AT LEAST ONE PITCH IN AN INNING IS COUNTED AS ONE COMPLETE INNING PITCHED), (B) IF A BATTER IS HIT BY A PITCH, BATTER IS AWARDED FIRST BASE, (C) A PITCHER WHO HITS 2 BATTERS IN ONE GAME SHALL BE REPLACED AND MAY NOT RETURN TO PITCH. FOR EXTRA INNING GAMES A PITCHER WHO HAS ALREADY PITCHED 3 INNINGS MAY RETURN FOR 2 INNINGS.

 

5) EVERYBODY PLAYS THE FIELD AND BATS. BUNTING AND TAGGING-UP IS PERMITTED.

 

6) NO LEADING OR STEALING. NO CHECKING RUNNERS BACK TO BASE BY PITCHER OR CATCHER. BASERUNNERS MAY ONLY ADVANCE ON CONTACT.

 

7) MAXIMUM OF SIX (6) RUNS PER INNING, EXCEPT UNLIMITED RUNS LAST INNING.

 

8) GAMES WILL LAST SIX (6) INNINGS. (WHATEVER INNING YOU ARE IN BY 3:55 P.M. SHALL BE THE LAST FULL INNING. IF AT 3:55 P.M. THE GAME IS TIED THEN IT MUST BE COMPLETED AND THE NEXT GAME MUST WAIT.)

 

9) PLAYERS RUN ON CONTACT ONLY. ONCE THE PITCHER HAS THE BALL NEAR THE PITCHING AREA PLAY IS DEAD UNLESS A BASE RUNNER IS ALREADY MORE THAN HALFWAY TO THE NEXT BASE (UMPIRE DISCRETION).

 

10) COACHES MUST MAKE SURE THAT SPECTATORS AND PLAYERS REMAIN BEHIND THE FENCED AREA, CLEAR OF THE BATTING AREA AT ALL TIMES.

 

11) A PITCHER CANNOT START 2 CONSECUTIVE GAMES.

 

12) IF A TEAM CHOOSES TO PLAY WITH A MINIMUM OF AT LEAST 5 PLAYERS THE GAME CAN BE PLAYED. THE OPPOSING TEAM MAY COOPERATE AND SUPPLY A CATCHER WHO IS NOT REQUIRED TO MAKE ANY PLAY AT HOMEPLATE. ALL BATTERS AND RUNNERS MUST WEAR BATTING HELMETS.

 

13) ALL GARBAGE MUST BE CLEARED AT THE GAME’S CONCLUSION FROM THE FIELD AND ALL DUGOUT AREAS.

     PIRCHEI RULES FOR 4th GRADE

 

1) CHILDREN PITCH UNDERHAND AND CHILDREN CATCH WEARING ALL PROTECTIVE CATCHER’S GEAR.

 

2) UMPIRE CALLS GAME (BALLS AND STRIKES). PITCHERS MOUND TO HOMEPLATE IS APPROX 38’.

 

3) (A) A PITCHER MAY PITCH A MAXIMUM OF 3 INNINGS PER GAME (A PITCHER THAT THROWS AT LEAST ONE PITCH IN AN INNING IS COUNTED AS ONE COMPLETE INNING PITCHED), (B) IF A BATTER IS HIT BY A PITCH, HE IS AWARDED FIRST BASE, (C) A PITCHER WHO HITS 2 BATTERS IN ONE GAME SHALL BE REPLACED.

 

4) FOR EXTRA INNING GAMES A PITCHER WHO HAS ALREADY PITCHED 3 INNINGS MAY RETURN FOR 2 INNINGS.

 

5) EVERYBODY PLAYS THE FIELD AND BATS. BUNTING AND TAGGING-UP IS PERMITTED.

 

IMPORTANT RULE:

6) IF THERE ARE 3 CONSECUTIVE WALKS GIVEN UP IN ANY ONE INNING OR 4 NONCONSECUTIVE WALKS IN ANY ONE INNING, THEN A 4TH GRADE COACH HAS THE OPTION TO REPLACE THE PITCHER FOR THAT HALF INNING ONLY AND CAN PITCH OVERHAND OR UNDERHAND WITH BALLS AND STRIKES.

 

7) NO LEADING OR STEALING. NO CHECKING RUNNERS BACK TO BASE BY PITCHER OR CATCHER. BASERUNNERS MAY ONLY ADVANCE ON CONTACT.

 

8) MAXIMUM OF SIX (6) RUNS PER INNING, EXCEPT UNLIMITED RUNS LAST INNING.

  PIRCHEI RULES FOR 5th AND 6th GRADE

 

1) PLAYERS PITCH AND CATCH WEARING ALL PROTECTIVE CATCHERS EQUIPMENT.

 

2) UMPIRE CALLS GAME (BALLS AND STRIKES). PITCHERS MOUND IS APPROX. 44 FEET FROM HOMEPLATE AND APPROX. 60 FEET BETWEEN THE BASES.

 

3) (A) A PITCHER MAY PITCH A MAXIMUM OF 3 INNINGS PER GAME (IF THE PITCHER THROWS AT LEAST ONE PITCH IN AN INNING IT IS COUNTED AS ONE COMPLETE INNING). (B) IF A BATTER IS HIT BY PITCH, HE IS AWARDED FIRST BASE. (C) A PITCHER WHO HITS 2 BATTERS IN ONE GAME SHALL BE REPLACED,

 

NEW RULE: FOR EXTRA INNING GAMES A PITCHER WHO HAS ALREADY PITCHED 3 INNINGS MAY RETURN FOR 2 INNINGS.

 

4) ALL 5th GRADE PLAYERS BAT AND PLAY THE FIELD. 6th GRADERS CAN ONLY HAVE A MAXIMUM OF 11 PLAYERS IN THE FIELD AT ANYONE TIME WITH DIFFERENT PLAYERS SUBSTITUTING EACH INNING. CONTINUOUS BATTING ORDER, EVERYONE BATS.

 

5) **NO STEALING. LEADING IS PERMITTED. A BASERUNNER MAY ADVANCE A BASE IF WHILE LEADING THE BALL IS THROWN AWAY BY THE PITCHER OR CATCHER WHEN CHECKING THE BASERUNNER BACK TO THE ORIGINAL BASE. IF A CATCHER OR PITCHER CHECKS THE RUNNER BACK TO THE ORIGINAL BASE AND THE BALL IS THROWN AWAY THAN A BASERUNNER MUST FIRST RETURN TO THE ORIGINAL BASE PRIOR TO ADVANCING TO THE NEXT BASE. IF THE BALL ARRIVES TO THE ORIGINAL BASE AND THE FIELDER STEPS ON THE BAG PRIOR TO THE BASERUNNER RETURNING TO THE ORIGINAL BASE THEN THE BASERUNNER IS OUT AND NO TAG IS NECESSARY.

 

6) MAXIMUM OF SEVEN RUNS PER INNING, EXCEPT UNLIMITED RUNS LAST INNING.
